Some people think LLM translations are great. Others say they hallucinate and can’t be trusted. We’ve heard both sides. And honestly, no one really agrees.

But there’s one thing everyone says. LLMs are really easy to use. That’s what good tech does. It removes friction. It makes hard things simple.

So we asked ourselves, how can we bring that to translation? How can we make it easier for people to request more translation projects? What can we simplify or remove?

That’s what the new Portal is about. It gives people a clear, no-fuss way to request translations. Whether you need something quick or want to play around with Sous Chef, it's eezy peezy.‍

We also added Gemini support to Augmented Actions. Bitbucket is now a connector. And there are many other helpful updates to make translation a bit easier, one update at a time. And before you get bored, onto the juicy details!

The Translation Portal

What if you could give your team or your clients something that feels like ChatGPT or Copilot, but built for translation? That’s what the Portal is.

You can set the tone, enforce your glossary, and keep everything safe under the right permissions and compliance. It’s as fast as Google Translate or ChatGPT, but the output actually respects your terminology, linguistic corpus and you can finely control it's tone and style.

The Portal isn’t just another feature. It’s a big step. Honestly, it could have been this entire update on its own. We’ll keep adding more details in the next releases, but for now, think of it as the easiest and safest way to ask for translations, without losing control.

Google Gemini Integration

The AI landscape is moving fast. One month it feels like one model is ahead, the next month another takes the lead. Betting on a single winner doesn’t make much sense.

That’s why we’ve added Gemini as an option for Augmented Actions. Google’s models have been showing strong results lately, and now you can put them to work inside Bureau Works.

Behind this feature is something far greater. We re-engineered our entire LLM codebase to make it architecturally compatible with most major stateless LLMs and in the process made it way way simpler for us to build on.

This isn’t about hype. It’s about flexibility. You get to choose the model that fits your needs best, and switch when the field changes.

And the beautfy is that different models, behave differently, opening the way for an entire new horizon of model optimization based on specific task types as well as efficiency of user interactions.

BitBucket Integration

Developers work best when they stay in flow. Stopping to export and upload files breaks that rhythm.

With the Bitbucket Connector, you can send files straight from your repo and get localized versions back automatically through pull requests. Everything stays secure, no extra steps.

And because Bureau Works is an end-to-end platform, you still have simple ways to bring in human translators, pay them, and build on past work. Automation when you want it, people when you need them.

Zen Mode Focus Without Distractions

When we talk about focus without distractions, most people think of Free-Flow. But our segmented editor (the one that’s always there) also deserves that same clarity.

That’s why we’ve added Zen Mode to the segmented editor. You decide what stays visible. And if you want nothing but the segments, no sidebar, no preview, no menus, you can strip it all away. Just you and the text, one segment at a time.

I wish I had a Zen mode that I could just switch on anytime...oh well. Maybe next life...

Track Changes Filter See What Really Changed

Not all segments need your attention. Some are untouched, others barely tweaked, and a few really matter.

The new Track Changes Filter highlights the segments that changed between workflows. Combine it with other filters in the editor, and suddenly QA becomes surgical instead of overwhelming.

It’s the fastest way to zero in on what’s been altered and ignore what isn’t. Talk about hyper-focus!

New Sets of Rules to our Task Placement Algorithm

Sometimes you want maximum flexibility, let Bureau Works pick automatically the best vendor. Other times, you want strict separation, one person translates, another reviews, no exceptions.

Now our Task Placement algorithm gives you the choice. With new assignment rules, you can decide if vendors should handle multiple steps, follow a strict sequence, or stick to a single workflow only.

It’s more control over who does what, so you can balance speed, quality, and compliance the way that works best for your projects.
